FONDAZIONE BARILLA NARRATED, IN A TELEVISION PROGRAMME, THE CULINARY TRAINING COURSE FOR YOUNG ASPIRING CHEFS WHERE TEACHING WAS INTEGRATED WITH THE THEMES OF THE ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, WELLBEING AND THE FIGHT AGAINST FOOD WASTE

In 2024, the project is reconfirmed, this time giving as many as 24 girls and boys from disadvantaged backgrounds, who have a keen interest in cooking and are aged between 18 and 30, the opportunity to attend the training. Unlike in 2023, the second edition will not include a TV programme.

PROJECT STRUCTURE:

A full-time school

8-week course (8 April – 31 May 2024), 6.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

Training

– Classroom + experience (food, accommodation, per diem included)

– Theory classes held by the Barilla Foundation team of experts

– Practice classes held by the teaching chefs

– 2-month paid internship at host structures in Italy (taverns, restaurants, delicatessens, etc.)

Selection parameters

– Age range: 18 – 30

– Geographical variety

– Personal motivation and passion related to the catering sector

– Demonstrable economic and social difficulties

– Psycho-emotional stability (ensuring commitment to completing the project)

– Willingness to relocate for the duration of the course and internship (Parma, period 8 April – 31 May)

– Level of knowledge of the Italian language for foreign participants B2

– Documents and residence permit in order (for foreigners)
